Excerpt from Announcement Email sent 7/27/11 wiht some general Membership information and FAQs:
...
Megan Braun comes to us as a member of the MARF Board, administrator of the Brooklyn Brumbies, and general Metropolis "Outsider".  Megan brings an excellent mix of organizational skills, rugby specific knowledge and real world practical experience to the table.  Perhaps all the more compelling is that she is able to look at things from the outside, not necessarily influenced by the argument of "this is how we've always done it".  Megan will serve as Team Manager: Player Eligibility & Membership Coordinator.  What does that mean?  Well, if you are not on Megan's list, you do not exist.  If Megan asks you for information, a signature, to fill out a form or pay your Dues you'd best act quickly else you cease to exist.

Now, more than ever, keeping up with what is asked and required of you as players is of the utmost importance.  With numbers growing, additional focus on Metropolis as a leader in USA Club Rugby and the level of competition increasing as our aspiration follow suit, we need to ensure all players are on the roster, are CIPP'd and eligible, and, as always, in good standing with Metropolis Rugby.  That good standing includes being current on your dues.  With competition fierce for all roster spots it's important that nobody takes advantage of all the privileges being a member of this Club provides without doing what is required for that privilege.

Metropolis Rugby Dues & Memberships Requirements

As a Dues Paying Member of Metropolis Rugby, you get far more value for you money than any gym membership, softball league fee or social club donation will every provide.  Our Official Dues paying members have access to, just to name a few, our training sessions, post-match socials (at which you will enjoy free High Life and Food), are allowed to vote at the Annual General Meeting, receive various free apparel and gifts (when available), carry the new and improved Metropolis Member card which affords the owner great discounts at Legend's Bar & Grill and, most importantly, are eligible for selection on of our competitive Division 1 or Division 2 sides.

So, how do you become an Official Member, Pay your Dues and be counted?  Within the next 7-10 days a new Membership Center, registration site will be launched for you to access and become a Member.  In doing so, there are a few very important pieces of information for you to note:

1)  All players will be REQUIRED to register with Metropolis via this new online Membership Center.  If you are not registered here, you will not be on the roster.  You'll find the system to very easy to use as it was professionally built by a local company who specializes in club membership, registration and event websites.

2)  All DUES will be paid through this system.  DUES can either be paid in full ($200 for Active Player or $125 for Rookie & U20).  If full payment doesn't work for you, you can select a Payment Plan.  Payment Plan options and details will be presented during the registration process.

3)   How much are Dues?  See # 2, $200 for Active Players or $125 for Rookie & U20

4)  NEW METROPOLIS MEMBERSHIP CARDS!!!  The new, permanent cards are done and in my possession.  The only way to receive one of these cards, making you a member of a proud group of people, and getting you great discounts at Legend's, will be to register through the Member Center.

These are merely the highlights, more details, instructions etc. will be presented when the Membership Center is launched.  With that, I ask that we refrain from questions now, wait for the launch and accompanying documentation and then, if things are still unclear, feel free to bring your questions to me and I'll be happy to help.  In the meantime, you have nothing to pay Metropolis with regards to Dues.  The clock won't start ticking until the site is up and running and everyone has fair warning.  (*Note to Old Boys and Fans who want to become Members and receive a Membership card.  You will have the opportunity to do so and special registration types will be launched for you either in conjunction with this first release or very soon afterwards.)

I know this is a lot of information to take in, but this first email will serve as a heads up and I ask that you continue to read subsequent updates, do your part to comply with the things asked of you and soon enough you'll be left alone to simply play rugby for Metropolis, knowing that we have your back and will be around for a long, long time.

Thank you for your attention and I look forward to great things out of this Club as the Fall Season gets underway!
